We had a visit from a lovely person today. She brought a very generous food donation, took our “tour” of the pantry, took some pictures for her Church’s newsletter, had a very nice conversation, and left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
COVID hasn’t really stopped us from doing much in our own lives, but her visit reminded me that COVID has done a number on some of us. I wanted to hug her but couldn’t.
Fortunately, we are moving past this but for some, the apprehension is still present. And for some, the damage will take longer to undo. Our granddaughter for one.
Pre-COVID, during COVID, and post-COVID, Pappy’s Pantry is our way of sharing God’s love, His mercy, and His grace. The families we serve are a blessing to us. The people who come into our lives are a blessing to us. Those who support us through prayer, financially, and with food donations are a blessing to us and to those we are honored to serve.
COVID and all its restrictions hasn’t stopped the kindness folks! Nor has it stopped us from loving our neighbor. Even if you are still uncomfortable with physical contact, smile often and share kind words. Give an elbow bump or an air hug. It’s good for the soul. 💜
